The Valemount Visitor Information Centre is your welcoming first stop for exploring the village and beyond. Located in a beautiful log building on the west side of Highway 5, the centre offers breathtaking mountain views and a relaxed place to pause, gather information, and plan your adventure.

Inside, you’ll find knowledgeable staff ready to share local and provincial travel information, help with room reservations, and book outdoor experiences. The centre features an interpretive room with engaging displays on Valemount’s natural history, wildlife, and iconic landscapes, including interactive exhibits on Chinook Salmon, Mount Pierre Elliott Trudeau, and the Premier Mountain Range.

In August, the Visitor Information Centre becomes a hub for learning about Fraser River Chinook Salmon. Evening interpretive programs bring the salmon’s remarkable journey to life, and just next door at George Hicks Regional Park, visitors can observe spawning Chinook Salmon nearing the end of their migration from the Pacific Ocean. A life-sized model of an adult Chinook Salmon adds to the experience.

The centre also offers one-stop trip planning. Book local activities such as whitewater rafting, float trips, helicopter tours, and Jeep or ATV adventures. You can purchase fishing licences, tickets for attractions across British Columbia, and accommodations in Valemount and throughout the province. Free Wi-Fi and internet access are available for travellers on the go.

Before you leave, browse a selection of local Valemount crafts and souvenirs, along with official Super, Natural BC merchandise. Outside, picnic tables provide a perfect spot to enjoy a snack, stretch your legs, and take in views of the surrounding Rocky, Cariboo, and Monashee Mountains. The centre also offers an excellent viewpoint of Mount Pierre Elliott Trudeau in the Premier Mountain Range, named in honour of past Canadian prime ministers.
