Valemount Visitor Centre

The Valemount Visitor Centre is the ideal starting point for your trip to the region. The welcoming staff is eager to assist with local and provincial information, offering accommodation tips, activity bookings, brochures, guides, and maps—everything you need to plan your visit.

While you’re there, discover a variety of unique souvenirs and local creations. The centre also provides BC Freshwater Fishing Licences and free WiFi for your convenience.

Wildfires

Summer is the perfect time to enjoy camping and outdoor adventures. However, it’s also wildfire season.

Respect campfire bans and stay informed about wildfire conditions.

Avalanches

Valemount is avalanche country. Before embarking on your snowy backcountry adventures, always check local and regional avalanche bulletins during winter to stay informed of the safety risks.

RECREATIONAL PERMITS, LICENSES & REGULATIONS

BOATING

Valemount’s lakes and rivers are among the most beautiful spots in BC for boating. Some lakes have boating restrictions, and a Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC) is required for operating motorized boats in Canada.

You can get your PCOC by passing Transport Canada’s accredited online exam.

FISHING

To cast a line in Valemount for trout, salmon, white fish and more, you’ll need a fishing license.

You can purchase it online at Service BC, the Valemount Visitor Centre, and the Mount Robson Visitor Centre.

HUNTING

Seek out wildlife in Valemount for a memorable hunting expedition.

To legally hunt animals in the Provice you must have a valid Hunting License. For more information, visit Hunting BC.

Pack it in, pack it out!

When visiting Valemount, please respect the land and its wildlife.

Avoid feeding the animals and ensure you don’t leave any garbage behind.
Littering is illegal in British Columbia and can result in fines of up to $2,000, so always dispose of waste in proper receptacles.
