Guest access

Enjoy fresh mountain air while relaxing in a valley surrounded by three mountain ranges. Just a few steps out the door is the R.W. Starratt Wildlife Sanctuary, home to deer, moose, beaver and a great variety of birds. The observation towers are a great place to take in the view of the local wildlife and Canoe Mountain.

Go for a swim at Cedarside Regional Park just 3kms south on Hwy 5. Enjoy the downhill mountain bike park accessed in town.

Use the full kitchen (or fire pit) to prepare your own meals, or walk to the neighbouring Best Western Hotel to enjoy a meal at their Summit Grill.

Interaction with guests

We are always available to assist but we will respect the guest’s privacy. When we are away we have friends nearby that look after the property for us.

The neighbourhood

There are wonderful views and many things to do. The neighbourhood caters to both nature and motorsport enthusiasts. Enjoy a peaceful walk watching the wildlife or explore the region on your motorcycle, snowmobile, or atv. The Cabin is close enough to town to enjoy the shops and services but far enough away to forget you are in town. It is the perfect place to stop when commuting between Vancouver and Edmonton. It is 120 kms from Jasper National park and the Marmot Basin ski hill.

Getting around

Many services and features are within walking distance. There is also a local taxi service available.

Other things to note

The steam shower jacuzzi tub may be difficult to use for those with limited mobility. The Cabin is on village water and sewer. Towels and linens are provided.

There is an Apple TV on wifi in the suite as well as a DVD player with a small assortment of movies. We also have a deck of cards with associated games for your use. There is no satellite or cable television.

The village has occasional power outages, usually weather related and short in duration. The outages are beyond our control and are part of the mountain living experience. Candles and flashlights are located in the suite for your use if required.
